报告摘要:
F(R) gravity theory, one of the modified gravity theories, predicts a new fundamental scalar field called scalaron. It is known that the scalaron field can be the origin of dark energy to explain the accelerated expansion of the current Universe. The scalaron field has a unique feature called the chameleon mechanism, and the chameleon mechanism plays an important role to hide the scalaron field in local tests of gravity. This talk reviews such a chameleon field theory and its applications to the early Universe, astrophysics, and particle physics.
